Produced from 1941 to the 1954, the classic Patek Philippe reference 1518 replica watch represented a breakthrough for the watchmaking industry as it was the first perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch ever manufactured in series by any brand. The model was later replaced by reference 2499, also a perpetual calendar chronograph, but with a wider diameter and fluted lugs.
A stainless steel Patek Philippe reference 1518 replica watch is a much rarer item. In fact, only four are known to exist. Of the four, three have at some point appeared at auction, with the last one selling over a decade ago.
The beautiful dial features applied Arabic numerals, outer railway five minute divisions and tachymetre scale, three subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 30 minutes register and moon phases with date and two windows for day and month at 12 o’clock. Only 281 examples of Reference 1518 were produced, the majority of them in yellow gold with only a few in pink gold.
